The Biba Supply Department in Beni Suef Governorate launched an expanded monitoring campaign on markets and shops, in implementation of the directives of Engineer Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Antar, Undersecretary of the Directorate, within the framework of the Directorate’s plan to intensify supervision of markets, control violations, and respond to citizens’ complaints at the Biba Center.
The campaign was headed by Ahmed Samir, Director of the Biba Supply Department, and with the participation of supply inspectors. It aimed to visit a number of different commercial activities, to ensure compliance with the supply laws and decisions regulating the markets, especially with regard to announcing prices and obtaining the necessary licenses for activities.
The campaign’s efforts resulted in the issuance of 5 misdemeanor ration records, which varied between violations of not announcing the prices of goods and practicing an activity without a license. 4 tickets were issued for not announcing prices, including 2 grocery stores, a store that sold cigarettes, and another for selling sanitary ware, in clear violation of the instructions regulating the protection of consumer rights and ensuring transparency in commercial transactions.
A misdemeanor report was also issued for a store selling food commodities, for carrying out the activity without obtaining the necessary licenses from the competent authorities, in violation of the law, which represents a danger to controlling the system of trading goods in the markets.
The necessary reports of violations were prepared, and legal measures were taken, in preparation for submitting them to the Public Prosecution to take action.
