In a precedent considered the first of its kind in the Biba Center in the south of Beni Suef Governorate, Hasnaa Mahmoud Abdel Fattah succeeded in writing her name as the first female legal official in the center, for the village of Taha Al-Bisha, after surpassing her competitors and fulfilling all the conditions set for filling the position.

“Hasnaa” said that assuming this responsibility represents a great dream for her, stressing that the position is not just a job, but rather a great trust that requires accuracy and fairness in dealing with people’s rights, especially in documenting marriage contracts.

She added: I grew up in a house of knowledge and religion, and my father, Sheikh Mahmoud Abdel Fattah – may God have mercy on him – was the village official for nearly 40 years, and I learned everything from him, whether in commitment or good treatment of people, and God willing, I will be an extension of him and continue the journey with the same approach.

She explained that she applied for the position of attorney among a number of applicants, saying: There was a competition with two others, and thank God I was able to fulfill all the conditions and excel, and this made me feel a greater responsibility to be as confident as I am.

She pointed out that the support of her family and the people of the village played a major role in her reaching this step, adding: I received great encouragement from the people, and this made a huge difference to me and made me motivated to succeed and prove myself.

She concluded her speech by saying: I want to be a good role model for girls, and tell them that there is no such thing as impossible. Any girl can achieve her dream as long as she has a will and strives, and I, God willing, will have the responsibility and people’s trust in me.
