Egyptian champion Hana Gouda, a table tennis player, achieved a distinguished record, after her brilliance in the recent World Championship in China and reaching the quarter-finals as the first Arab and African woman, before exiting after a marathon match against the world and Olympic champion.

Here, Gouda rises to 22nd place in the world table tennis rankings

After her distinguished performance during the World Championship in China, Hana Gouda jumped to 22nd place in the world rankings of the game, advancing 4 full places, to be the first Egyptian and African player to reach this position, breaking the record of her colleague Dina Meshref, who reached 25th place in 2023.

During the current rankings, Dina Musharraf fell to forty-eighth place in the rankings, while Maryam Al-Hudaybi ranked 83rd globally, and after her, her twin Marwa Al-Hudaibi ranked 124th.

Earlier, Gohar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, received Egyptian table tennis player Hana Gouda, in the presence of the President of the Egyptian Table Tennis Federation, Major General Ashraf Helmy, after she achieved a historic achievement by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Table Tennis World Cup in China.

The Minister of Youth and Sports praised the outstanding performance provided by the player, stressing that what Gouda achieved here is an unprecedented achievement that reflects the development of the level of Egyptian table tennis, and confirms the ability of Egyptian champions to compete strongly in international forums.

The Minister also explained that the tournament held in Macau, China, is considered one of the strongest World Cup tournaments, noting that Jouda performed very strongly during her career.
