The executive authorities in Giza continued their intensive efforts to improve the hygiene system and improve the level of services provided to citizens, as the Cleaning and Beautification Authority was able to remove about 1,450 tons of waste and accumulations in a number of vital sectors, as part of the governorate’s preparations to receive the Sham El Nessim celebrations.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Giza, confirmed that the campaigns come within an integrated plan aimed at improving the environmental condition and restoring discipline and the civilized appearance of the street, stressing the continued intensification of efforts, especially during the holiday periods, which witness a heavy demand by citizens for parks and gardens.
The governor explained that the work included implementing a large campaign at the end of Mansouriya Road, which resulted in the removal of about 700 tons of litter and garbage waste, in addition to organizing a night campaign in the Marble Land area within the Al-Munira Al-Gharbiya neighborhood, which resulted in the removal of about 750 tons of waste, within the framework of immediately dealing with the hotspots of accumulation and preventing their return.
Al-Ansari pointed out the implementation of a number of practical initiatives to maintain public cleanliness during the celebrations, including distributing free plastic garbage bags to garden and park patrons, especially at the Green Corner Club on the Nile Corniche in Imbaba, and the Safari Park on Ahmed Orabi Road, in addition to the archaeological area, in order to facilitate the process of collecting waste and reduce its random dumping, as well as enhancing environmental awareness and encouraging community participation.
In the same context, Major General Muhammad Al-Dubaie, head of the Cleaning and Beautification Authority, confirmed that cleaning and stripping campaigns were carried out in a number of main axes and squares, including Japan Street in the Omraniyah district, in addition to planting and beautification works on Tahrir Street in Dokki and Hristo Square in the Haram district, which contributes to improving the visual image and giving a civilized appearance worthy of citizens and visitors.
