Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Muti, Governor of Gharbia, issued a decision a short while ago to amend the fare for means of transportation on all internal lines between the centers and cities of the governorate, as well as external lines linking Gharbia with other governorates, in addition to internal transport lines, in proportion to the new increase in the prices of petroleum products, according to the tables attached to the approved tariff.

The decision of the Governor of Gharbia came after the issuance of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ Decision No. 244 of 2026 to move and amend fuel prices as of three o’clock in the morning today, Tuesday, March 10, in light of the exceptional circumstances witnessed by energy markets globally, as it was decided to raise the price of gasoline 95 from 21 to 24 pounds per liter, gasoline 92 from 19.25 to 22.25 pounds, and gasoline 80 from 17.75 to 24 pounds per liter. 20.75 pounds, and diesel from 17.5 to 20.5 pounds per liter, and the price of automobile fuel gas was adjusted from 10 to 13 pounds per meter.

The Governor of Gharbia confirmed that a specialized committee reviewed the route distances and the number of trips when determining the new tariff in order to achieve a balance between the interests of citizens and drivers so that there are no problems between the two parties.

The governor directed the management of all parking lots within the governorate to announce the new tariff and post it in all parking lots, and to place stickers on service and public transportation vehicles explaining the itinerary and the fare determined according to the new tariff, while intensifying oversight campaigns from the Parking, Traffic and Supply Department and the heads of centers and cities to ensure compliance and not exploit citizens and take legal measures against violators.
