The challenge witnessed the mention of many prominent names who accompanied Gerrard or preceded his generation, as Stephen remained completely silent when mentioning names such as: Lucas Leiva, John Arne Riise, Roberto Firmino, Sami Hyypia, Jordan Henderson, Jamie Carragher, and Andy Robertson, and he was also silent when his personal name was mentioned, in reference to the English legend’s humility in front of the Pharaoh’s numbers.
Gerard said, breaking his silence only when the name of Scottish legend Kenny Dalglish was mentioned, continuing: Kenny will always remain the king, the main king of Liverpool FC.
Gerrard added in the context of his talk about Mohamed Salah: Salah is also known as the king, and I think that in terms of numbers and statistics, he is definitely in the same position with Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish for me, without a doubt.
The Reds legend continued that what Salah has achieved since joining the team makes him a fundamental pillar in the club’s history, indicating that the comparison between these giants depends on the record numbers and the influence they left at Anfield.
Gerrard concluded the challenge by emphasizing his full respect for everyone who made Liverpool’s history, but stressed that Dalglish remains a special case in the club’s history, while fully acknowledging that Salah has reserved his place among the elite of the elite in the history of the English Premier League.
