Gharbia Governorate is currently witnessing a state of weather turmoil, resulting in strong winds and moderate to heavy rains at times in a number of cities and centres.
Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Muti, Governor of Gharbia, stressed that all executive agencies and vital facilities at the governorate level have been raised to the highest level of preparedness for the third day in a row, coinciding with the instability of weather conditions and rainfall, stressing the necessity of taking all precautionary measures that guarantee the safety of citizens and the continued regularity of services without being affected.
Activate emergency plans
He also directed to activate emergency plans immediately, and to fully ensure the readiness of rapid intervention equipment and water sweeping vehicles, and to spread them quickly and continuously in all streets and roads to remove any water accumulations and prevent their accumulation, while increasing the degree of full coordination with drinking water, sanitation, and electricity companies, to ensure rapid response to any reports or emergency malfunctions, in addition to continuous field monitoring of the condition of streets and roads, and ensuring the safety of lighting poles and advertising banners to confront the intensity of the winds.
The Governor of Gharbia called on citizens to adhere to and be careful during periods of rain, and to avoid being near lighting poles, trees, or billboards, and to quickly report any emergency through the operating rooms, which contributes to the speed of response and reducing any potential negative effects.
