Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, Governor of Matrouh, conducted a surprise tour inside the public market in the city of Marsa Matrouh, to follow up on the extent of compliance with rationing procedures and market control, especially with regard to announcing commodity prices to citizens.

During the tour, the governor found that a number of vendors did not adhere to posting clear signs that included the prices of goods, in violation of regulatory instructions, which caused a state of lack of transparency in front of citizens.
Immediately, the governor directed that the relevant supply official be referred to investigation, due to the failure to follow up on the implementation of price announcement decisions within the market, stressing the need to intensify daily monitoring campaigns to control the markets and prevent any price manipulation.

The Governor of Matrouh also stressed the importance of obligating all merchants to announce prices clearly, in order to preserve the rights of citizens, and to achieve the principle of transparency, while taking deterrent legal measures against violators.
