The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum Governorate launched intensive monitoring campaigns, which resulted in the seizure of 1,800 liters of diesel before it was sold on the black market, as part of the state’s efforts to tighten control over markets and confront the monopoly of goods.
The campaigns came in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, on the necessity of tightening control over markets, controlling prices, and confronting any monopolistic practices.

For his part, Engineer Juma Abdel Hafeez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, explained In FayoumThe campaign was able to seize a Chevrolet semi-transport vehicle equipped with an iron tank, loaded with 1,800 liters of diesel, on the tourist road in the Yusuf Al-Siddiq Center district.
He added that the diesel load was unloaded at one of the gas stations and kept in custody until the Public Prosecution issued a decision. The car was also seized, the accused was handed over to the Youssef Al-Siddiq Police Department, a misdemeanor report was issued regarding the incident, and the necessary legal measures were taken.
In a related context, ration campaigns continued to pass through a number of vital facilities, including tourist bakeries to monitor weights and prices, bean and falafel restaurants, and supermarkets, in addition to subsidized flour and stove warehouses, to ensure compliance with official prices.
The campaigns also included visits to gas stations, where a periodic inventory was conducted to ensure regular work and conformity of quantities, warning of adherence to legal records and licenses, in addition to following up on the distribution of butane cylinders through gas agencies.
The campaigns extended to butcher shops to monitor the prices of municipal meat, as well as markets and grocery stores, especially fruit and vegetable markets, to control prices and prevent any manipulation or exploitation of citizens.
The Fayoum Supply Directorate confirmed that monitoring campaigns would continue on a daily basis, and that decisive legal measures would be taken against violators, within the framework of consumer protection and market control.
