Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, met with a number of retired Egyptian ambassadors, today, Tuesday, within the framework of the keenness to continue institutional communication, benefit from the accumulated diplomatic and media experiences of the retired ambassadors, and discuss current regional developments.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Minister reviewed the determinants of the Egyptian position on regional crises, most notably the war in Iran, highlighting the intense Egyptian efforts made to reduce escalation and tension and give priority to dialogue and diplomatic solutions, stressing Egypt’s categorical rejection and condemnation of the attacks against the sister Gulf countries and Egypt’s full solidarity with the Arab Gulf countries.

The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the current media scene and its extreme importance in light of the sensitivity of the stage, to explain Egyptian positions, and refute fallacies and attempts at sobriety, as Minister Abdel-Aty stressed the importance of the role that the media must play, as an essential partner in shaping public awareness.
Minister Abdel-Ati listened to the ambassadors’ assessments of the current regional scene, where an interactive dialogue took place about ways to support Egypt and the Arab countries during this delicate stage that the region is going through.
