Abu Dhabi announced the closure of the Habshan Gas facilities after a fire broke out as a result of falling shrapnel during an operation to intercept an Iranian attack on Friday.

The Emirati news agency, WAM, said that the competent authorities in Abu Dhabi are dealing with the incident of shrapnel falling at the Habshan gas facilities, following the successful interception by air defenses.
It stated that operations in the facilities were suspended while the concerned authorities dealt with a fire resulting from the incident, without recording any casualties.
In a related context, the agency said that the competent authorities in Abu Dhabi are dealing with an accident resulting from falling shrapnel in the Ajban area following a successful interception by air defenses.
The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that the UAE air defenses responded to missile and drone attacks coming from Iran on Friday.
In a related context, and during her participation in the virtual meeting of foreign ministers regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Reem Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of International Cooperation, said: Any attempt to close or obstruct navigation or use the Strait as a tool for economic coercion is unacceptable and not based on a legal basis, and constitutes a direct threat to the freedom of international maritime navigation and energy security.
