He said in a statement: Due to the bad weather conditions expected tomorrow, Wednesday, all activities and events at Al-Azhar Mosque and its external branches in the governorates will stop.
On the other hand, the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, received today, Tuesday, in the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar, His Excellency Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation.
During the meeting, His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed the Emirati ambassador, stressing the depth of relations between Al-Azhar and the United Arab Emirates, and the continuous development these relations are witnessing in various fields.
His Eminence renewed Al-Azhar’s condemnation of the unjustified attacks on civilian facilities in the UAE, the Gulf states, and the countries of the region, and the endangerment of civilians, calling on God Almighty to grant our country and our region security, safety, tranquility, and stability.
For his part, the Emirati ambassador expressed his happiness at meeting His Eminence the Grand Imam, and his country’s appreciation for Al-Azhar’s efforts to spread the true religion and promote the culture of global peace and human brotherhood, stressing the United Arab Emirates’ keenness to strengthen cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and to benefit from its global standing and its moderate approach in confronting extremist thought, consolidating the values of peace and coexistence among peoples, and sparing the peoples of the region and the world from the scourge of conflicts and wars.
