The Russian House in Tehran

The opening of the Russian House in Tehran comes despite American threats to launch an attack on Tehran if an agreement is not reached between them, as well as the closure of many embassies of Western countries based in Iran.

The opening ceremony was attended by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsevilev, head of the Rossotrodnichestvo agency Yevgeny Primakov, director of the Russian House in Iran Lilia Pankina, along with Iranian Deputy Minister of Culture Mehdi Mohammadi, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, and a number of cultural and diplomatic figures.

The ceremony included an exhibition by the Russian Geographical Society entitled “Russia is a Multinational Country,” which showcased the country’s natural and ethnic diversity, in addition to an exhibition of works by Iranian artists dedicated to Russia, where the artists spoke about their creativity and interest in Russian culture.

The organizers announced that the Russian House will be an open platform for all those interested in Russia, where the latest Russian films will be shown, concerts by contemporary artists, art exhibitions, and meetings with experts will be held. Russian education will also be a main focus, as information will be provided about study opportunities in Russian universities.
