The Directorate of Health Affairs in Cairo Governorate issued Administrative Resolution No. 206 of 2026 requiring the immediate closure of Dr. Diaa Al-Awadhi It is located on Al-Nozha Street in the eastern area of Nasr City, in a firm legal step to control private medical facilities, after Diaa Al-Awadi was removed from the records of the Medical Syndicate.

Closing Dr. Dhia Al-Awadhi’s clinic

This decision was based on a careful review of the laws regulating the practice of the medical profession and medical facilities, and in response to a letter from the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing at the Ministry of Health.

The reasons for the closure are due to the issuance of a final ruling by the Primary Disciplinary Body of the Doctors Syndicate last February, where the operative part of the ruling issued in the session held on February 17, 2026 ruled that the membership of the aforementioned doctor from the General Syndicate of Doctors be dropped. This procedure results in the doctor losing the legitimacy to practice the profession and manage medical facilities in accordance with Law No. 415 of 1954 regarding the practice of human medicine, which necessitated the intervention of the Free Treatment Administration to officially close the clinic’s headquarters.

The decision was approved by Dr. Mohamed Ragab Al-Sayed, Director of the Free Therapy Department, and Dr. Tamer Atef Madkour, Head of the Sector, with an emphasis that it will enter into immediate effect as of the date of its issuance on March 10, 2026. This step confirms the continued oversight efforts of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Cairo to ensure that all medical personnel and facilities adhere to the strict professional and legal standards set by the state and the General Syndicate of Physicians.

Earlier, the General Syndicate of Egyptian Physicians announced the issuance of the decision of the Syndicate’s Primary Disciplinary Authority in the disciplinary case filed against Doctor Diaa El-Din Shalabi Mohamed Al-Awadi – consultant in anesthesia, intensive care and pain treatment – to drop his membership and remove him from the Syndicate’s records.

The Disciplinary Authority’s statement stated that it was conclusively found that the aforementioned doctor published and presented medical opinions and information that were not scientifically proven, violated the applicable rules locally and internationally, and harmed patients, via social media, and dealt with many medical specialties that did not fall within the scope of his specialization, such as diabetes, kidney diseases, the digestive system, the heart, tumors, immunity, hormonal disorders, and others, while offering therapeutic methods that were not approved or approved by the relevant scientific and regulatory authorities.
