BYD is adding a new all-electric SUV to its Song lineup, the Song Ultra, which features a more powerful electric motor than the only electric motor specification found in the current SUV model in the lineup.

Currently, the BYD Song series has the following SUV models on the market: 2026 Song L DM-i, Song L DM-i Intelligent Driving Edition, 2026 Song Pro DM-i, Song Pro DM-i Intelligent Driving Edition, 2025 Song L EV, Song L EV Intelligent Driving Edition.
In terms of appearance, the front end of the BYD Song Ultra resembles that of the Song Pro DM-i, with the exception of a slight difference in the design of the front grille. At the back, the taillights adopt BYD’s distinctive Chinese knot design, and the “EV” and “Song Ultra” logos appear at the bottom left and right of the car, respectively, to indicate the car’s identity. A lidar system is available on the roof as an additional option.
While the BYD Song Ultra is 4850 mm long, 1910 mm wide and 1670 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2840 mm, it is larger than the currently available BYD Song plug-in hybrid models.
For comparison, the 2026 Song L DM-i is 4780 mm long, 1898 mm wide and 1670 mm high, with a 2782 mm wheelbase. The 2026 Song Pro DM-i is 4735 mm long, 1860 mm wide and 1690 mm high, with a 2712 mm wheelbase, and its curb weight is 1990 kg. And 2050 kg, respectively.
