The executive authorities in Menoufia Governorate were able to seize more than 3 tons of salted fish unfit for human consumption inside a refrigerator in the West Shebin El-Kom neighborhood, during a major inspection campaign coinciding with the celebration of the Spring and Sham El-Nessim holidays, as part of tightening control over the markets.

The campaign came in coordination between Major General Amr Al-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, and Major General Alaa El-Din Al-Jaher, Director of Menoufia Security, and in cooperation with the West Shebin El-Kom district, the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, and the Supply Investigation Department, where the seized items were seized and the necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident, in preparation for presenting them to the Public Prosecution for its affairs.

In the same context, the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade launched surprise campaigns against food establishments, shops, and municipal bakeries, which resulted in the issuance of 249 ration violation reports in various centers and cities of the governorate, and the seizure of 50 packages of subsidized local flour before being sold on the black market in the Al-Shuhada Center, and half a ton of salted fish of unknown origin in the city of Menouf, in addition to more than half a ton of spoiled frozen poultry in the Al-Bajour Center.

The Governor of Menoufia confirmed the continued intensification of ration and control campaigns throughout the governorate, to control markets, confront any monopolistic practices, and ensure that support reaches those who deserve it, in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
