The National Food Safety Authority announced its participation in supervising the work of preparing and preparing meals provided within the activities of the Most Gracious Table in Alexandria Governorate (the Good Table in the Fleming area), starting today, the 17th of Ramadan, until the end of the Holy Month, in a step aimed at ensuring the provision of safe and healthy breakfast meals to those who are fasting.
Dr. Tariq Al-Houbi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, confirmed that this participation comes within the framework of the supervisory and community role undertaken by the Authority, and its keenness to support charitable initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan, ensuring the provision of safe food that preserves the health of citizens.
He explained that the Authority has coordinated with those in charge of the table to supervise the meal preparation and processing operations, as the Authority’s inspectors will follow up on the various stages of food preparation, ensure the safety and suitability of the raw materials used, and the employees’ commitment to good health practices, and set appropriate cooking temperatures, in addition to applying proper preservation methods for the meals during the period between the end of cooking and until they are presented to those who are fasting with the Maghrib call to prayer.

The Chairman of the Authority indicated that this initiative reflects the importance of integration and cooperation between government agencies and civil society institutions in spreading the culture of food safety and ensuring the provision of safe meals at various community events and initiatives.
The table is scheduled to begin serving about 1,000 iftar meals per day in its first days, with the number increasing on some days to reach 3,000 meals per day, as part of the efforts made to provide iftar meals for those who are fasting throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The National Food Safety Authority confirms the continuation of its monitoring and awareness efforts during the Holy Month to ensure the safety of food circulated in various activities and events, which contributes to protecting the health of consumers and establishing a culture of safe food in society.
