Private sources revealed that it is likely that a decision will be issued to exceptionally raise the prices of gasoline and diesel due to the regional circumstances and situations resulting from the Iranian war, within hours.
The sources explained to Cairo 24 that the decision comes taking into account many of the economic considerations that Egypt has been affected by as a result of the ongoing war regionally.

Earlier, Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, spokesman for the Council of Ministers, confirmed that the government has developed several scenarios and plans to deal with any escalation that occurs in the region.
Al-Homsani continued: The Minister of Petroleum explained that the Ministry has contracts extended for a period extending to several months, and there are preparations for any emergency. The Ministry of Petroleum has a strategic reserve and contracts from several international parties. The state allocates all the necessary resources to provide the needs of the petroleum sector.
Al-Homsani continued: The state is committed not to increase fuel prices until next October, but the Prime Minister stressed that if the crisis continues for a long period, temporary exceptional measures will be considered.
