There is a lot of search for a prayer for the deceased that will benefit her in her grave, especially in those blessed days when the response to the prayer and its acceptance from God Almighty increases. These are the prayers that reach the deceased in her grave and return to her with raised ranks in Paradise, forgiveness and mercy.
In the context of talking about Prayer for the deceased Some people may share pictures of their mothers, whether they were young or a picture of her before death, accompanied by a prayer for her mercy. What is the ruling on this behavior, especially if the picture shows some of the mother’s charms or parts of her body? Via Cairo 24, we learn about examples of prayers for the deceased and the legal ruling on sharing photos of deceased women on social networking sites.
Prayer for the deceased
It is recommended to pray a lot for the deceased for mercy and forgiveness, and to make many famous supplications, but when you want to share a picture of her with the supplication, you must pay attention to the details of the picture in order to prevent revealing the private parts that God Almighty has covered from others, and this is what was confirmed by Hind Hamam, Fatwa Secretary at the Egyptian Fatwa House.
The Fatwa Secretary explained in television statements that sharing photos with friends or close ones is permissible as long as they adhere to Sharia controls. If the woman in the photo is wearing the Sharia hijab, and the way she is standing or turning to the camera is not obscene or out of the ordinary, and the dress is modest, then there is no objection to publishing it.

The Fatwa Secretary stressed that pictures that show hair or what must be covered or go outside public etiquette are forbidden because they violate the rules. The basic principle is that it is permissible while adhering to the rules and etiquette.
The following are examples of prayers for the deceased:
- O God, forgive her, have mercy on her, pardon her, honor her abode, widen her entrance, wash her with water, snow, and hail, purify her from sins as a white garment is purified from filth, replace her with a better home than her home, a better family than her family, and a better husband than her husband, and admit her to Paradise and protect her from the torment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.
- Oh God, illuminate her grave, and make it a garden of Paradise, and do not make it a pit of fire.
- Oh God, make her grave wide, extend her sight, and spread her grave from the bed of Paradise.
- Oh God, have mercy on her with a mercy that encompasses the heavens and the earth. Oh God, have mercy on her estrangement in her grave, forget her loneliness, secure her splendor, and make her grave light, bright, spacious, and happy.
- Oh God, forgive her all her sins, small and big, first and last, secret and public. Oh God, forgive her for what she did before and what she delayed, what she concealed and what she announced, and what you know better than her.

- Oh God, if she is benevolent, increase her benevolence, and if she is offensive, then overlook her bad deeds.
- Oh God, make her among those who believe and do righteous deeds, and cause her to die as a Muslim and join her among the righteous.
- Oh God, let her enter Paradise without judgment or precedent of torment, and place her in the highest heavens with the prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs, the righteous, and the good companions of those.
- Oh God, make her steadfast when asked, teach her her proof, and make the Qur’an her intercessor, and the angels comfort her in her grave until she is resurrected safe on the Day of Resurrection.
- Oh God, make your Prophet Muhammad, may God bless you and grant him peace, intercede for her, and make the Holy Qur’an her intercessor, and include her in the group of righteous men and women.
- Oh God, make it reassuring in the depths of the earth, safe when the testimonies arise, confident in the presence of Your satisfaction, and preceded by Your highest degrees.
- Oh God, gather us together in the gardens of bliss with the prophets and the truthful. Oh God, treat her with what you deserve and do not treat her with what she deserves, for you are the people of piety and the people of forgiveness.
- Oh God, we entrust her to you, and you are the best depositor, so make her grave better than this world and what is in it, and make what comes after it better for him than it.

Prayer for the sick deceased
It is also recommended to pray a lot for the sick deceased, knowing that God Almighty forgives the dead person’s illness due to the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “No fatigue, no illness, no worry, no sadness, no harm, no distress, befalls a Muslim, not even the thorn by which he is pricked, but God expiates “His sins”:
- Oh God, she was patient with affliction, so make her patience an intercessor for her, and make every moment of pain she suffered an atonement for her sins, and raise her ranks in the two highest places. Oh God, she took account of what befell her before you, so consider her among the patient men and women.
- Oh God, make the illness, pain, and sickness that befell her a purification of every sin, an atonement for every sin, and a raise in her status with You. Oh God, do not waste the reward for what she suffered, and make every tear she shed a light in her grave.
- Oh God, just as you afflicted her with illness in this world, heal her in the afterlife with a cure that will not cause sickness after it, and admit her to Your Paradise free from every disease, and replace every pain with good deeds, and every sadness with degrees.
- Oh God, she endured the disease and was patient with the pain, so write for her a good deed for every breath in which she was patient, and for every moment in which she was rewarded. Oh God, do not let her suffering be in vain, and place it in the balance of her good deeds.
- Oh God, make every tear she shed from pain a light that illuminates her grave, and every groan she released from pain, make it an answered supplication, and every night she stayed awake from illness, make it like the night prayer in her balance.

- Oh God, let her enter Your Paradise without judgment or punishment, as a reward for her patience with illness, and make the last thing she suffered in this world her last sorrow, and the first thing she will receive from You is mercy, contentment, and Paradise.
- Oh God, compensate her for every moment of pain with paradise and bliss, for every day of illness with comfort and mercy, and for every medicine she took with a drink from the rivers of Paradise. Oh God, replace her with something better than what she lost in worldly health.
- Oh God, have mercy on her weakness, have mercy on her pain, and have mercy on every moment in which she needs your help. Oh God, you saw her suffering and heard her groaning, so do not disappoint her hope in you, and make her grave a garden of paradise.
- Oh God, if she missed some acts of worship due to her illness, write her full reward as you wrote it for her while it was correct. Oh God, count her as one of those who strive in Your cause, for she has fought illness patiently and seeking reward.
- Oh God, forgive her and have mercy on her, and forgive her with your grace and generosity, for she met you after a long period of trouble and suffering. Oh God, make the last pain I experienced in this world a key to the doors of Your mercy, erasing its bad deeds, and raising its status with You.
