Startups and major defense contractors in the United States are racing to develop low-cost missiles to intercept drones that have become widespread in modern wars.

The Wall Street Journal indicates that the US military is currently using missiles, the cost of which may reach more than a million dollars each, to shoot down cheap Iranian drones.

She added that former NASA engineer Jason Cornelius is working on manufacturing a rocket in Texas, which he says will cost no more than $10,000.

The Cornelius project is one of several initiatives that seek to provide more economical and effective solutions to confront the threat of drones, at a time when the need for innovative defense technologies that suit the nature of modern conflicts is increasing.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine had sent interception drones and a team of experts specialized in drones to protect American military bases in Jordan.
