Today, Friday, the city of St. Catherine witnessed a significant turnout of tourists and visitors, as it received 556 visitors of various nationalities, following improved weather conditions and moderate temperatures, especially during the night periods.

Ibrahim Abdel Halim, the city’s director of public relations and media, explained to Cairo 24 that the visitors were of diverse nationalities, with the number of visitors reaching 553 tourists and only 3 Egyptians, in addition to multiple nationalities, most notably Russia, Germany, Italy, England, the United States, Spain, France, Cyprus, Venezuela, and Macedonia, which confirms the city’s status as a distinguished global spiritual destination.

Climb Mount Moses and visit St. Catherine Monastery

Mount Musa witnessed a large turnout, as 286 tourists and visitors (including 3 Egyptians) climbed it to watch the sunrise from the highest peaks, in a unique spiritual experience.

St. Catherine’s Monastery also received about 270 foreign tourists, to learn about its ancient history and religious sanctities.

Today, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 20°C and a minimum of 10°C, which contributed to encouraging tourists to continue their climbing trips at night, whether on foot or on camelback, in a unique atmosphere.

After completing the climbing trips, visitors head to explore other landmarks within the St. Catherine Reserve, where the experience includes visiting the colorful valleys, heading to President Mohamed Anwar Sadat’s rest house, learning about Bedouin life, and buying medicinal herbs and Sinai handicrafts.

The Greatest Transfiguration Project

The city is receiving increasing attention in light of the Great Transfiguration Project, which aims to transform St. Catherine into a global destination for religious tourism, while highlighting its status as a spiritual symbol that brings together the three heavenly religions.

These numbers confirmed the continued attractiveness of the city as one of the most important spiritual and tourist destinations in the world, with its ancient history, charming nature, and unique, unrepeatable experience.
