The club’s first football team resumes Zamalek Training, today, Wednesday, at the Military College Stadium, following the end of the passive rest period that the players received for five days, after playing the Smouha match in the third round of the Egyptian Capital Cup.

Zamalek players return to training today

John Edward, Zamalek’s sporting director, decided that the team would return to training on time, despite the fact that the financial crisis that the club is currently going through has not been completely resolved.

This decision came within the framework of the football sector’s keenness to maintain the technical and physical readiness of the players, and not to disrupt the team’s progress during the coming period, especially as it is linked to a number of important matches.

According to what private sources learned, the decision to resume training came after the sports director obtained official promises from the club’s management to pay the players’ overdue financial dues within the next few days, and to work to end the crisis once and for all, ensuring a state of stability within the team, and helping the players to fully concentrate on training and matches without any external pressure.

The football sector at Zamalek Club notified the players of the date and location of the training, as it confirmed the team’s commitment to training at the Military College Stadium starting today, Wednesday, as part of the technical and physical preparations for the next stage.

It is expected that, if the team is regular in training in the coming days, Zamalek will play the fifth round match of the Egyptian Capital Cup, which is scheduled to be held next Sunday, in light of the technical and administrative staff’s efforts to restore discipline and achieve positive results during the coming period, despite the challenges that the club faces on the financial and administrative levels.
