Abdel Moneim Imam warns of the burden of phone fees and calls for a review of the system
Imam explained, in television statements, that he submitted official questions to the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Communications, noting that phone prices in the local market are higher than abroad by up to 20 and 30%, even for locally manufactured devices, while the increase on some imported phones reaches about 50%.
He pointed out that the decision represents a huge burden on Egyptians permanently returning from abroad, especially families who enter with several phones, in addition to its negative impact on the use of Egyptian lines and remittances from Egyptians abroad, calling for a review of the system in a way that achieves justice and does not harm citizens.
