Lucy Milgrim chose a different path than others children At the age of nine, while her peers were busy with games and phones, she regularly practiced weightlifting and wrestling, and trained several times a week, achieving remarkable achievements at an early age.

A young American woman raises controversy by lifting weights exceeding three times her own weight

According to Audit Central, during her participation in the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, she caught attention with an exceptional performance, after she was able to lift 82 kilograms in one go, despite her weight not exceeding 27 kilograms, in a scene that impressed the audience and spread widely on social networking sites.

According to her father, Brett Milgrim, Lucy had remarkable physical strength since she was young. She used to accompany her parents to the gym, and began imitating the exercises they watched, which helped her gradually develop her skills.

Lucy also explained that she was attracted to the sport of wrestling because of her father’s work as a coach, as he would accompany her and her brother to training, which strengthened her passion for sports in general.

Despite widespread praise for her abilities, these achievements sparked controversy, as some observers expressed their concern about the impact of lifting weights on her health, especially at this early age, noting that the bones and muscles are still in the growth stage.

Others also warned of potential risks, stressing that children at this age may be exposed to injuries or health problems as a result of strenuous exercise, calling for the need to be careful.
