Investigations at the Zefta Police Station in Gharbia Governorate succeeded in uncovering the mystery of the incident where the body of an elderly man was found inside his home in the village of Kafr al-Naqib, as it turned out that a woman and her son were behind the crime, motivated by theft and revenge.
The body of an elderly man was found under mysterious circumstances
The details of the incident are due to the security services in Gharbia receiving a report from the villagers, stating that the body of an elderly man was found inside his house under mysterious circumstances. Immediately, a force from the Criminal Investigation Department in the Zefta Center Department moved to the location of the report to conduct inspection and examination.
Upon examination, it was revealed from the investigations and inspection conducted by the criminal investigation officers in the Zefta Police Station Department, headed by Major Abdel Hakim Darwish and under the supervision of Colonel Muhammad Saqr, Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch in the Zefta and Al-Santa Police Station Department, that the victim is called “Ahmed Bakr,” aged 76 years, a retired regular guard, and he was found with several injuries to the head and face, suspected of being the result of assaulting him with a solid object.
Family disputes were behind the incident
Investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department in the Zefta Center Department revealed that the incident was committed by the ex-wife of the victim’s son, called “Hanan.” Al (39 years old), together with her son, Ibrahim. Al (19 years old) from another husband, and with legal procedures, they were arrested, and when they were confronted, they confessed to committing the crime with the motive of theft, in addition to taking revenge on the victim, due to previous family disputes.
The body was transferred to the morgue of Zefta General Hospital at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, which initiated investigations and decided to detain the accused for 4 days pending investigations, with forensic medicine assigned to perform an autopsy and determine the cause of death.
