Family disputes over an inherited apartment turned into A horrific murder in a village Al-Qalaj in the city of Khanka in Qalyubia Governorate, after a driver took the life of his sister’s husband using a white weapon, “a sharp weapon,” in an incident that shook the people of the village. Major General Ashraf Gaballah, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Qalyubia Security Sector, was notified.
The village of Al-Qalaj witnessed the outbreak of family disputes over the rental of an inherited apartment, where the accused assaulted his sister’s husband by beating him, resulting in him being seriously injured and claiming his life.
Major General Mohamed Al-Sayed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department in Qalyubia, and Major General Wael Metwally, Head of Investigations at the Directorate, received a notification from Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Amir Al-Koumi, Chief of Investigations at the Khanka Police Station, stating that a report had been received from Al-Khanka Central Hospital about the arrival of the so-called “Khaled M.” A. H. suffered abrasions to his chest and bruises to his back. He was in a critical condition, and despite attempts to rescue him, he died as a result of his injury.
Immediately, a force of investigation officers from the Khanka Police Station moved to the location of the report, and upon examination it was found that the perpetrator of the incident was the brother of the victim’s wife, called “Hamdi A.” i. A., 39 years old, a driver and resident of the village of Al-Qalaj, as a result of family disputes over renting an inheritance apartment.
When asked by the victim’s wife, “Mahasin A. i. A., 42 years old, a housewife, decided that she was going to rent the apartment in her mother’s house, but her brother blocked her way and prevented her. An argument occurred between them that developed into an assault, and the family intervened to resolve the dispute, before the accused left the place threatening to return.
She added that she returned to her home, and then she was surprised by the gathering of people and their screaming, and they told her that her brother had gone up to the apartment and assaulted her husband using a “tattoo.” When she went up, she found him lying on the ground, unable to speak, so the people tried to take him to the hospital, but he died as a result of his injury.
After codifying the procedures, the investigation officers of the Khanka Police Station were able to arrest the accused, and when he confronted him, he admitted to committing the incident.
Report No. 29970 of 2025 misdemeanors in Al-Khanka Center was issued, and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation, which ordered the burial of the body after completing the autopsy work and stating the causes of death.
