A medical team at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Benha, Qalyubia Governorate, saved the life of a child who swallowed a chair stapler nail that penetrated the child’s abdominal wall and settled inside the abdominal cavity. The nail was removed and the child’s condition stabilized.
The operation was performed by a medical team that includes: Dr. Muhammad Metwally, consultant and head of the pediatric surgery department, Dr. Walid Muhammad, and Dr. Imad Al-Daghidi, pediatric surgery consultants, and Abdullah Ahmed, pediatric surgery specialist.
The anesthesia team includes: Dr. Nadia Mohieldin, Dr. Weam Abdel-Al, and the nursing team includes: Iman Ayman – Omaima Samir – Heba Ali – Faten Reda – Hoda Ramadan – Ghada Muhammad.
The hospital administration sent a message to the family about the need to raise awareness about the cleanliness of the places where children are, as well as to focus on the child so that he does not pick up things that cause harm to him.
