Dozens of flights were canceled after the fire broke out in a store selling electronic cigarettes inside a four-storey building, while the National Railway Company announced the closure of the station until further notice as fire brigades continued efforts to control the fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that the fire broke out on the ground floor of the building, and it was informed of the incident at 15:46 local time, as about 15 fire engines and specialized resources were rushed to the site.

The authorities reported that no injuries had been recorded so far, while Scottish MP Paul Sweeney indicated that the building, which dates back to 1851, had suffered a partial collapse.

The disruptions in train traffic are expected to continue until Monday, with the station closed for trips to and from the upper platforms and trains passing through the lower platforms not stopping, according to The Guardian.
