The local unit of the Al-Kawthar neighborhood in Sohag Governorate announced the implementation of a field tour of the medical center in the Al-Kawthar neighborhood, within the framework of the directives of Major General Tariq Rashid, Governor of Sohag, to follow up on citizens’ complaints and determine the level of health services provided to them.

Medical Center in Al-Kawthar District

This came during a visit made by Dr. Sharbat Al-Suwayna, head of the Al-Kawthar neighborhood, accompanied by MP Asma Hijazi, where they inspected the medical center’s departments to determine the reality of the situation and the level of service provided to the people of the neighborhood and neighboring areas.

The tour revealed that the medical center, although it consists of 4 floors and includes a large number of clinics, receives between 70 and 90 cases daily, while relying on only one doctor, which represents a great pressure on the work system, especially since it serves vital areas including Al-Salamouni, Al-Issawiya East, Arab Mahdi, and Al-Diyabat.

The inspection showed that a number of clinics inside the center are structurally equipped, but they are inactive due to the lack of medical equipment and human cadres, despite the fact that the building is funded with millions of pounds, which requires quickly taking advantage of the available capabilities and operating it at its full capacity.

Immediately, Representative Asmaa Hegazy submitted an urgent briefing request to the Minister of Health, regarding the need to support the center with medical equipment, provide doctors and nursing staff, and work to operate it fully or partially as soon as possible, in order to ensure the provision of decent health service to citizens, stressing the continuation of follow-up until the center enters full service.
