A medical source at Al-Bajour Specialized Hospital in Menoufia Governorate revealed details of the incident of an attack on an orthopedic doctor while performing his work during the work shift, confirming that the doctor suffered a fracture in his nasal bone, and he was detained in the hospital to complete the necessary medical examinations, in preparation for his entry into the operating room.

The sources confirmed to Cairo 24 that the hospital’s administrative security quickly intervened to control the situation, and the accused was detained inside the hospital police station until the competent security force arrived, and prevented the events from escalating inside the medical facility.
The security force wrote a report on the incident, and the competent investigation authorities were notified to initiate investigations and take the necessary legal measures regarding the incident, while the hospital administration continues to follow up on the health condition of the injured doctor and check on him, amid demands from the medical staff for the necessity of providing full protection for health sector workers while performing their work.
