The local gold markets witnessed a state of remarkable stability at the beginning of trading today, Saturday, March 21, 2026, coinciding with the second day of Eid al-Fitr, as the prices of the precious metal stabilized at the levels at which trading concluded yesterday, Friday.
A gram of 21 carat gold was the most in demand and widespread in the Egyptian market, at about 7,010 pounds for sale and 6,940 pounds for purchase.
This price stability comes after a sharp decline witnessed by the yellow metal, as the gram lost about 130 pounds of its value compared to the high levels it had recorded in morning transactions yesterday, Friday.
This current stability reflects a state of relative calm in the goldsmiths’ movement during the Eid holiday, after the strong fluctuations that preceded this stability, which gives observers and buyers an opportunity to anticipate market trends in the coming days.
