Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, followed the efforts of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in the governorate in controlling markets and monitoring prices, which were reviewed in the report of Engineer Juma Abdel Hafeez, Director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum.
The Governor of Fayoum stressed the need to continue monitoring campaigns on markets and sales outlets, to ensure the availability of food commodities of high quality and at reasonable prices, while taking strict measures against monopoly and commercial fraud.

The Director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade explained In FayoumThe ration campaigns during the month of February resulted in the issuance of 1,689 various ration reports, including violations in the bakeries, mills, markets, and petroleum materials sector. 944 violations were detected in the bakery sector, including 205 reports of underweight, 98 reports for producing bread that did not conform to specifications, 18 reports for assembling municipal flour, 14 reports for stopping production, and 9 reports. Lack of records, 12 reports of missing a scale, and 588 reports of other violations related to bakeries.
With regard to markets and petroleum products, a number of 745 various reports were issued, including 233 reports for failure to announce prices, 12 reports for selling more than the official price, 9 reports for lack of invoices, 6 reports for managing an establishment without a license, 35 reports for expiration of products, 21 reports for violations related to meat, 105 reports for lack of health certificates for workers, 7 reports for commercial fraud, and 21 reports. Goods of unknown origin, 4 reports of pharmacies and medical supplies, 201 reports of supply merchants, 29 reports of assembling food supplies, in addition to 15 reports in the field of petroleum products, and 17 reports of other violations in the field of markets.
The director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum added that the campaigns also resulted in the seizure of 13,350 kg of subsidized local flour before it was sold on the black market, 40 tons of luxury flour in one of the Bir Al-Salem factories, 12 tons of pasta with artificial colors added to it that are prohibited from being used, 8,000 grocery packages of various expired food commodities, 2,500 kg of expired poultry and fish, and 850 kg of processed meat.
Also seized were 40 expired milk powder bottles, 1,500 kg of animal feed of various types, ranging from expired to unknown origins, with no data indicating the date of production or expiration, 2,190 kg of underweight sugar collected by some supply merchants for the purpose of profiting from the difference in the subsidized price, 500 liters of diesel fuel before it was sold on the black market, 69 expired cans of paint and varnishes, and 5,981 kg of expired dairy products. Expired and unfit for human consumption, and 241 packs of different types of cigarettes exceeding the official price and imported ones whose circulation is prohibited.
Also seized were 322 boxes of various human medicines, including commercially adulterated items not authorized for circulation, narcotics not authorized for circulation at unlicensed medical supplies offices, 2,298 kilograms of fertilizers and agricultural fertilizers not authorized for circulation before being sold on the black market, 89 cartons of expired chocolate and unfit for human consumption, 22 bottles of detergents of various sizes of unknown origin, and 1,750 cosmetics packages. Expired herbs of unknown origin, 248 bottles of ration oil collected by a ration merchant for the purpose of selling and profiting from the price difference, 300 kg of oil of unknown origin packed in gallons, 300 kg of expired peanuts, and 270 kg of expired meat and meat products.
The seizures also included 42,000 missiles and fireworks not authorized for circulation, 388 kg of rationed sugar collected for the purpose of selling on the black market, 3,500 kg of expired cooking oil, 250 kg of expired noodles and orzo containers of various sizes, 110 kg of artificial colors prohibited from being used in one of the Bir Al Salam factories, 105 pieces of expired medical supplies in one of the medical supplies offices, and 80 liters of agricultural pesticides. Expired, and 3 tons of henna is not fit for human consumption.
The Governor of Fayoum stressed the continuation of campaigns to control markets and address any violations, in order to preserve the rights of citizens and ensure that basic goods reach them at reasonable prices and high quality.
