Mostafa Madbouly said that the SUMED line is a joint company between a number of Arab countries, noting that the line is currently transporting quantities of energy that have contributed to reducing the burden of the import bill.
Madbouly added during a press conference that the state is working to introduce more energy resources, to support efforts to reduce dependence on imports and enhance the efficiency of the energy system.
He explained that this comes in implementation of Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives regarding developing and rehabilitating energy networks, with investments estimated at about 16 billion pounds, with the aim of accommodating new and renewable energy projects and increasing production capacity, which contributes to reducing the import bill and achieving sustainability in the energy sector.
