Rajab Shehata, head of the Rice Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, revealed: Rice prices in Egypt Today is Saturday, after the regional events.
Shehata explained to Cairo 24 that the price of barley rice increased by one thousand pounds to a level between 13-14 thousand pounds for fine-grain rice, delivered to the ground, and 14,500 pounds for broad-grain rice, delivered to the ground.

The head of the Rice Division added that the reason for the increase in the price of barley rice is due to the increase in the prices of rice waste that is used in the feed industry after regional events.
He pointed out that the prices of rice waste have increased during the current period with the increase in demand in light of the rise in feed prices, as it is used as an alternative to feed additives. If the price of feed inputs rises, the prices of rice waste rise as it is used in higher proportions in the manufacture of feed.
Price of a ton of white rice
The head of the Rice Division said that the price of a ton of white rice recorded 21 thousand pounds per ton of fine grain, delivered to the ground, and 25 thousand pounds per ton of broad grain, delivered to the ground.
He continued: Last year, the total amount of rice straw collected amounted to 457,36 tons since the beginning of the rice harvest season, after the Ministry of Environment provided agricultural equipment, including rakes, tractors, and choppers, to collection contractors for a symbolic rent in support of the environmental system.
