Lenovo launched a new update to its famous ThinkPad line of computers to reveal the new P series models, which include the advanced ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7 computer. This new version comes to be a direct replacement for its predecessor, which was based on the AMD Strix Point architecture, as the company also presented a second, smaller alternative to the leading P16s G5 and P1 G9 computers and bears the name ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD to meet the needs of users looking for powerful performance in a compact design.

This new computer is available with powerful processing options up to a Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470 processor supported by an integrated Radeon 890M graphics processing unit to ensure smooth performance. Despite these high specifications, experts indicate that this processor will only slightly outperform the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 processor found in the older version, and this new model also lacks the option of a separate graphics processing unit that is available in the parallel P14s i G7 model.

Lenovo offers excellent screen options in this 14-inch laptop to suit different preferences. Users can choose between an IPS screen with a resolution of 1200 pixels or upgrade to an ultra-high-resolution OLED screen with a resolution of 2.8K. The latter screen is unique in supporting a 120Hz refresh rate with 100% color coverage of the DCI-P3 space to provide vivid colors and an exceptional visual experience for content creators.

The new computer features enormous capabilities in terms of RAM and storage space to enhance the productivity of professionals. The device supports the installation of up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, divided into two SO-DIMM slots, allowing users to replace and upgrade it with complete ease, in addition to providing a huge internal storage space of up to 2 TB that relies on the ultra-fast PCIe Gen 5 technology for data transfer.

The device comes with two battery options with a capacity of 60 watt-hours or 75 watt-hours inside a light body, its weight starts at 1.29 kilograms and its dimensions are 313.6 by 221.7 by 15.93 mm. The company is preparing to put this computer on the market starting in April 2026, and although the price details or final configurations have not been confirmed yet, those in a hurry can check out the older version, ThinkPad P14s G6, which is currently available at a price of 1,780 US dollars.
