Asus revealed new and exciting details about its 16-inch gaming laptop in preparation for its launch in global markets. This advanced device comes in six different versions, all of which are based on the powerful Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor from Intel, while providing multiple customization options that allow upgrading the graphical performance up to the GeForce RTX 5080 card designated for laptops from NVIDIA to meet the aspirations of professional players looking for the utmost levels of power and speed.
This step comes more than a week after Asus’s initial announcement of the ROG Strix 2026 lineup, which included an 18-inch version and an alternative device to the ROG Strix Scar 18 model, which is currently available at a price of $2,699. Although Asus is very secretive about its precise plans to release the new Scar 18, it is dealing with greater transparency with the ROG Strix G16 2026 computer by confirming its global launch and publishing the numbers of the six approved models on its official website.
All six models share a powerful 90-watt-hour battery with wonderful IPS screens that support a refresh rate of 300 Hz. These screens maintain a display resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with a fast response time of 3 milliseconds, and the device supports DDR5-5600 upgradeable random access memory with two M.2 2280 storage slots, while the computer weighs 2.65 kilograms and comes with dimensions of 354 x 268 x 228 to 308 mm to maintain its practical design.

ASUS provides various options for graphics processing units to suit the different budgets and needs of gamers. The G615LM models come equipped with a GeForce RTX 5060 card with a power of up to 115 watts and includes 15 watts of dynamic boost, while the G615LP models rely on a GeForce RTX 5070 card with 8 GB of memory while maintaining the same maximum power of 115 watts, despite recent leaks that indicate NVIDIA’s readiness to announce an updated version with 12 GB of memory.
The G615LW models sit at the top of this leading series thanks to their provision of the GeForce RTX 5080 card, which provides a massive graphics power of 175 watts. This high power consumption necessitates that these advanced models be equipped with huge power adapters with a capacity of 380 watts, compared to the 280 watt adapters designated for less powerful models. Despite the publication of these precise technical details, Asus has not yet confirmed any official information about expected prices or deadlines for the availability of the devices in the market.
