Apple device users are waiting for a long-awaited update for the Apple TV device after reports that expected its launch stopped late last year, as current information indicates that the launch has been postponed for several months due to the delay in the readiness of the voice assistant Siri. The next version is not expected to witness any significant design changes, as it will maintain the same circular, square shape made of black plastic to be completely identical to the current version from the outside.
The main update is focused on internal performance by providing the device with the A17 Pro chip, which Apple used for the first time in the iPhone 15 Pro phones. This chip, manufactured with 3nm technology, represents a qualitative leap compared to the current A15 Bionic chip to provide higher speed and better efficiency with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing to improve game graphics. It is also possible that the company will integrate newer chipsets such as the A18 or A19 with increased random memory capacity to support the smooth operation of artificial intelligence features.

Although the device is ready for immediate launch, Apple wants to launch it in conjunction with the smarter version of its voice assistant. Experts confirmed that Apple postponed the artificial intelligence features associated with the device to September 2026 within the new iOS 27 system after facing technical challenges, which led to the postponement of the launch of other devices that rely on the same system, such as the next generation of HomePod devices.
The device witnesses significant improvements in wireless connectivity through the addition of the N1 chip to support fast Wi-Fi 7 networks at a frequency of 6 GHz to provide interruption-free streaming, in addition to support for Bluetooth 6 technology to easily connect controllers and headphones. Expectations indicate the possibility of reducing the price or launching two different versions, one with advanced specifications and the other economical, to provide various options for users at the expected launch next September or after.
