Minix announced the availability of its new Minix ER939 computer for direct purchase through its official online store after it was revealed late last year without details about prices. This gaming device comes equipped with the very powerful Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor from AMD to meet the aspirations of users looking for exceptional performance in completing complex productive tasks and running heavy games with high efficiency within a compact structure that does not take up much space.
This mighty processor includes 16 full cores based on the advanced Zen 5 architecture to provide multi-core performance that competes with the Ryzen 9 7945HX processor and outperforms the Core Ultra 7 255HX processor from Intel by 7 percent in the Cinebench 2024 tests. The integrated Radeon 8060S graphics processing unit is the main attraction in this computer, as it provides graphics performance comparable to discrete graphics cards and close to the power of the GeForce RTX 5060 card intended for laptops.

The device contains a huge, non-expandable RAM of 128 GB, of the fast LPDDR5X-8000 type, which the central processing unit shares with the graphics unit. This enormous memory allows large language models (LLMs) to be run locally with ease, which is impossible to achieve on most consumer graphics units that are satisfied with VRAM memory ranging from 8 to 24 GB only, while the computer provides an internal SSD storage space of 2 TB that can be expanded up to 8 TB, with a cooling system that relies on three fans to ensure stable performance.
The computer offers a complete set of communication ports, including two USB 4 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports for connecting various accessories. The device also includes an HDMI 2.1 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a 2.5G Ethernet port for wired networks, and two 3.5 mm audio jacks. It supports modern wireless communication technologies WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 thanks to the RZ717 module installed in the M.2 2230 slot, in addition to providing two additional M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 and M.2 2242 slots. PCIe 4.0 for storage expansion.
The computer features very compact dimensions of 8.071 x 7.56 x 2.7 inches to fit any office, no matter how small, and contains a fingerprint sensor to provide fast and secure biometric authentication. This powerful version is available at a hefty price of $3,810, which is a very high price, especially when compared to some competing devices that offer similar internal specifications at a much lower cost, such as the GMKtec Evo-X2 computer from GMKtec, which is currently available at a price of less than $3,000.
