Leaks are increasing about the next generation of PlayStation devices, as new information indicates that Sony is working on developing the portable PS6 device alongside the traditional version, with a focus on running PS5 games efficiently.
A well-known leaker reveals that the company plans to unify the development environment between its devices, through technologies such as “Power Saver Mode” and the “PlayGo” feature, with the aim of improving game compatibility with less powerful devices, such as the upcoming mobile device.
Sony has also updated the SDK to version 13, allowing developers to split game files such as graphics and textures according to each device. Thus, users will not have to download files that are not intended for their devices, which enhances performance efficiency and reduces resource consumption.

The presence of a package dedicated to the PS5’s power saving mode indicates that it may be the basis for the mobile device experience, especially with expectations that it will rely on less capabilities compared to home devices.
In a related context, Sony informed developers that it will end support for old PSN services for new games on PS4 starting in the spring of 2026, which reflects a clear trend towards preparing the ecosystem for the next generation.
These moves reinforce expectations for the imminent launch of the PS6 and its portable device, with the possibility of launching them in 2027.
