Geekom launched its new mini computer, the Geekom A5 Pro 2026 Edition, which runs on AMD processors, but it was disappointing as it did not offer any real or noticeable upgrades compared to the previous version that the brand introduced in January of 2026. Looking at the recent past, the previous version was based on the Ryzen 5 7430U processor, a processor that completely matches in its specifications the old Ryzen 5 5625U series processor. The latest 2026 version comes with a Ryzen 5 7530U processor, which is also completely identical to the old 5625U processor. As a result, although the update may appear to exist on paper and in marketing numbers, there is no actual or tangible improvement in performance on the ground, which makes this new version merely a renaming of old components without adding real value to users looking for higher speeds.
As in the previous version, this mini-computer can be equipped with up to 64 GB of random access memory and a huge storage space of 3 TB. The device also did not witness any significant changes in the port settings, as it maintains the same lineup that includes three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, and two HDMI 2.0 ports, in addition to a 3.5 mm audio port, a 2.5G Ethernet network port, and an SD memory card reader to meet basic connectivity needs.
The mini computer supports Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6 to ensure a fast and stable connection to the Internet and peripheral devices. Other notable features include an elegant chassis made of durable aluminum, a quiet cooling system that keeps the temperature stable, and support for operating four screens simultaneously. GECME is currently offering a special promotion on this device, as the version with 16 GB memory and 1 TB storage space is available at a price of $569.
Despite this promotion, users interested in this device may find it a better and more economical option in the market. The previous version, which offers the same amount of RAM, storage space, and the same physical performance, is still available for purchase at a price of $549, making it a slightly cheaper and more reasonable option than the new version, which did not offer any real innovations that would justify paying the additional cost.
