Tecno launched its new Spark 50 5G smartphone in the Indian market to provide a distinctive economic option for users. This device features an elegant and innovative back design that is very similar to the design of the Pixel 10 phone that Google launched last year, which is available at a price of 549 US dollars. The new phone relies on a horizontal camera that takes the shape of a pill and is made of strong aluminum from the sixth series to add a clear touch of luxury to the economic category.
Tecno abandoned the use of Unisoc processors in this new version and relied on the advanced Dimensity 6400 processor from MediaTek to ensure smooth and fast performance. This powerful processor is coupled with an LPDDR4x random access memory of up to 6 GB to facilitate switching between different applications, in addition to a fast UFS 2.2 internal storage space with a capacity of 128 GB. However, the device lacks a port for external memory cards, which limits the options for expanding the storage space available to the user.
The phone includes a large 6.78-inch screen that supports HD+ display resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz for a smooth visual experience. The screen provides a peak brightness of 560 nits and a touch response rate of 240 Hz, while the imaging system relies on a single 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.85 lens aperture and a powerful LED flash to capture clear images, in addition to an 8-megapixel front camera dedicated to taking selfies and making daily video calls with high efficiency.
The internal structure of the device contains a giant 6500 mAh battery that supports 45-watt fast wired charging technology to ensure very long periods of operation. The phone runs on the HiOS 16 operating system, based on Android 16, without revealing details of support for future updates. The device features support for fifth generation networks, dust and water resistance with an IP64 standard, and a military durability certificate MIL-STD-810H, in addition to a 3.5 mm audio port, Bluetooth 5.3 technology, and a global positioning system.
Tecno will launch its new phone on April 3 in attractive color options, including fantasy purple, ink black, mint green, and champagne gold. The price of the basic version with 4 GB of RAM starts at 16,999 Indian rupees, which is equivalent to about 179 US dollars, while the price of the higher version with 6 GB of RAM reaches 18,999 Indian rupees, or 200 US dollars, to provide various options to suit different budgets for those looking for advanced economical phones.
