
Alaa Farouk praises the role of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association in supporting investments
Alaa Farouk confirmed Minister of Agriculture And land reclamation that the African continent has a well-established position in Egyptian foreign policy, indicating that the Egyptian state pays great attention to strengthening joint African action and developing cooperation relations with the countries of the continent in various fields.
This came during his speech at the fifth annual conference of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, headed by Dr. Yousry El-Sharkawy, and in the presence of a number of ambassadors and representatives of African countries and communities, in addition to representatives of economic and governmental bodies and banks. The Minister stressed the importance of the role played by the association as an important platform for enhancing economic and investment cooperation and partnership between Egypt and its brothers on the African continent.
The political leadership’s keenness to support and deepen the Egyptian-African partnership
According to the ministry’s advice published on the official page of the Council of Ministers on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook,” the Minister of Agriculture indicated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s keenness to support and deepen the Egyptian-African partnership based on Egypt’s belief in the unity of a common destiny with the countries of the continent, pointing out that the agricultural sector comes at the forefront of areas of cooperation because of the strategic importance it represents in achieving food security and promoting economic and social development.
Farouk added that Egypt has established a number of joint model farms in some African countries such as Zambia, Niger, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Tanzania, with the aim of transferring and localizing Egyptian agricultural technology and enhancing the productivity of strategic crops, while working to expand this experience in other African countries.
The Minister of Agriculture called on the private sector and businessmen to expand the establishment of agricultural and investment projects on the African continent and to benefit from the great natural opportunities and potential that its countries possess, in a way that contributes to achieving common interests and supporting sustainable development efforts.
