TCL has launched the new C7L displays with Mini LED technology in the US and European markets to provide amazing viewing options. These innovative screens come with a brightness of up to 3000 nits and a panel that supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz. This series sits in a category slightly lower than the leading C8L screens, but it offers very similar gaming features and relies on the Google Smart TV system to provide an integrated entertainment experience at more affordable prices and within reach of a wide segment of users.

These screens rely on an advanced SQD-Mini LED backlight combined with an HVA 2.0 panel to target the premium segment at affordable prices. The TV offers up to 800 local dimming zones in the smaller models to ensure excellent contrast, while this number rises to 2,176 zones in the larger versions to deliver deep, clear images, with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, which is almost half the brightness offered by the company in the top series.

The display specifications of these screens are highly compatible with the rest of TCL’s modern lineup to ensure exceptional picture quality. The panel supports 4K ultra-high resolution with a native refresh rate of 144 Hz to provide ultra-smooth movement, in addition to supporting a variable refresh rate to improve gaming performance. Advanced display technologies include support for HDR10+ formats, Dolby Vision technology, and HLG format with very wide coverage of the BT.2020 color range to ensure the display of vibrant colors.

The screen provides comprehensive and advanced gaming support thanks to its HDMI 2.1 ports, AMD FreeSync technology, and a dedicated Game Master mode. The screen takes advantage of game acceleration features to further raise variable refresh rate ranges, and works with the Google TV system with built-in support for the voice assistant. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi networks and modern Bluetooth 5.4 technology, while audio is handled via a 2.2 channel system tuned by Bang & Olufsen with support for Dolby Atmos surround technology.

The fundamental difference between the C7L Series and the flagship C8L Series lies in the extreme levels of performance and additional capabilities. The higher series reaches a brightness of 6,000 nits with a much larger number of local dimming zones to deliver exceptional visual performance, while the new series is closer to what is common and familiar in upper mid-range Mini LED displays, making it an ideal balanced option that offers excellent specifications and much lower compromises in terms of the final cost for consumers.
