According to what was reported by Bloomberg, the company is starting to withdraw the phone from the Korean market, followed by stopping its sale in the United States as soon as the available stock runs out.
Signs of this decision appeared with the disappearance of any indications of re-introducing the device on the official website, and it was sufficient to announce that quantities were sold out. The phone features a unique design that relies on three screens that fold through two hinges, allowing it to be used as a large tablet.
Despite the advanced capabilities it offers, especially in multitasking and the viewing experience, its high price of about $2,899 puts it outside the scope of the average user, limited to a limited category of those interested in modern technologies.
Samsung first launched the phone in South Korea last December, before it reached the American market in January, with distribution limited to its official stores without telecommunications companies or traditional sales outlets.
In light of the complexity of the manufacturing process, the company has not yet decided its position on launching a new generation, but it may work to transfer some of the device’s features, such as the wide screen, to its foldable phones at more competitive prices during the coming period.
