Samsung continues to develop its smart glasses based on artificial intelligence, in a step that reflects the growing interest in this category of devices. This comes after the company announced last year about partnerships with Google and a number of brands specializing in eyewear.
Jae Kim, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s phone business, revealed some details about the upcoming glasses during an interview with CNBC.
He explained that the device will include a camera at eye level, which is a common feature in this type of device, and will also rely on connecting to a smartphone to process the data captured by the camera.

On the other hand, the information indicates that the glasses may lack a built-in screen, a feature offered by some competing products on the market. However, Kim noted that Samsung provides other devices with screens for users who need this type of experience.
According to the official’s statements, Samsung plans to launch its smart glasses during this year, although a specific date has not been revealed yet.
Previous leaks indicate that the device may be powered by a Qualcomm AR1 processor, with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera, a 155 mAh battery, and an estimated weight of about 50 grams. It is also expected that artificial intelligence capabilities will depend on Google’s Gemini platform.
