Continuous and sudden rises in the costs of RAM chips and semiconductors have prompted many Chinese smartphone manufacturers to urgently review and adjust their pricing policies. Major companies such as Oppo and its sub-brand OnePlus, in addition to Vivo and its sub-brand Iko, joined the list of companies that recently announced noticeable and direct increases in the prices of many of their devices offered in the Chinese markets to confront these economic challenges and manufacturing pressures.

An official price adjustment schedule published on the Chinese Weibo platform revealed details of the increases for Oppo smartphones to clarify the picture for users. The K13 Turbo phones and the K13 Turbo Pro version saw an increase of 500 Chinese yuan, while the price of the K13x version increased by 400 Chinese yuan. These increases also affected the economic versions, as the prices of the K13s and K12s phones increased by 200 Chinese yuan. The changes include the various price categories offered by the company.

As for OnePlus, the flagship OnePlus 15 phone and the Ace 6 version recorded an increase of 500 Chinese yuan, bringing the new starting prices to 4499 yuan and 3099 yuan, respectively. The Ace 6T phone was not spared from this wave, as it was sold at a price of 2,799 Chinese yuan, compared to its original launch price, which amounted to 2,599 Chinese yuan. These price adjustments extended to include the Turbo 6 series of phones and the Turbo 6V version, with an increase of 200 Chinese yuan for each.

On the other hand, Vivo and its sub-brand Aiko announced its future plans to keep pace with these changes in production and manufacturing costs. The two companies confirmed their readiness to implement new price increases on a selection of their smart devices offered in China starting on March 18, joining the ranks of competing companies that were quick to take proactive steps to maintain their profit margins in light of the escalation in prices of basic electronic components.

Previous technical leaks indicate that the next generation of leading phones from OnePlus, Echo, and Redmi, which will rely on advanced processors with a manufacturing accuracy of 2 nanometers, may start at a price of 5,000 Chinese yuan. Although these current price increases are limited to the Chinese market only, experts and analysts warn of their potential repercussions on global markets soon, despite the fact that no official announcements have been issued yet regarding raising prices at the international level.
