NordVPN today announced the launch of Call Protection for Android users in the US, UK, EU, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Australia, and Canada. The feature aims to warn users of fraudulent calls before answering them.
The feature relies on analyzing incoming phone numbers via “multiple information” to assess the number’s reputation, and when it is suspected of being a fraudulent call, a warning appears next to the caller’s number.
Call Protection works within the NordVPN app itself, so there’s no need for an additional download, and it stays in effect whether you’re connected to the VPN or not, as long as you have a NordVPN Premium subscription to enable it.
To activate the feature, you can go to the Threat Protection screen within the application and turn on the call protection option, then follow the instructions to activate the required settings within the Android settings, and after completion you will receive confirmation of success within the application.
