Xiaomi President Lu Weiping confirmed via Weibo that Redmi will launch the Redmi K90 Max later this month. It is still unclear whether this is the new name for the upcoming Redmi K90 Ultra phone or a completely different device.
The phone features an active cooling system that relies on a built-in fan with a larger diameter than competing solutions. The amount of airflow reaches 0.42 CFM, which Xiaomi says is 30% higher compared to other devices. The fan also operates at three different speeds, with a noise level as low as 32 dB at the lowest setting.

According to official information, the cooling system can reduce the device’s temperature by about 10 degrees within 100 seconds at maximum performance. Despite the presence of the fan, the phone will have IP66, IP68, and IP69 resistance against dust and water.
Redmi has opened pre-booking in China for only 9.9 yuan, with the promise of a mysterious gift package worth up to 3,600 yuan at launch. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
