Expansions for clean energy and autonomous driving

announced a groupHyundai Motor“South Korea pumped investments worth 9 trillion won, equivalent to about 6.3 billion dollars, to establish a huge data center for artificial intelligence, a robotics factory, and a hydrogen production station, in a move that reflects the acceleration of the company’s trend towards advanced technologies within South Korea.

This step comes as part of an expansion strategy aimed at supporting industrial and technological transformation, especially in the areas of self-driving vehicles and smart automation systems, thus enhancing the company’s global competitiveness in the future automobile industry.

A huge data center to support autonomous driving

According to a statement from the Korean Ministry of Land, the AI data center will account for the largest share of investments, worth 5.8 trillion won. The center is scheduled to be provided with approximately 50,000 graphics processing units, with the aim of supporting the development of self-driving technologies and improving machine learning programs used in robots.

This project represents a fundamental pillar in Hyundai’s move towards integrating artificial intelligence into the manufacturing and development system, with a focus on accelerating innovation in smart mobility systems.

Expanding robotics and the benefits of clean energy

The plan includes allocating 400 billion won to establish a factory specializing in the production of robots, within the framework of supporting industrial automation and developing advanced solutions for the industrial and service sectors.

The group also intends to invest one trillion won in hydrogen production facilities, in a move that is in line with the trends of transitioning to clean energy. In addition, 1.3 trillion won will be directed to solar power generation projects, with the aim of enhancing operational sustainability and reducing emissions.
