Huawei has begun distributing a new update for the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro, after launching them in Europe during September 2025 with improved features over the previous GT 5 series.
Update No. 6.0.0.173 adds a real-time virtual cadence feature for outdoor cyclists, as the application calculates the speed of pushing on the pedals to give the user more accurate data during training.
Huawei has also improved the performance of the high-altitude monitoring feature, as it now relies on heart rates and blood oxygen levels to send alerts when signs of not adapting to the altitude appear.

Huawei has also moved to improve the music playback experience, although details are not explained in the changelog. In addition, the display of time associated with the use of digital car keys and smart lock key cards via the Huawei Health app has been enhanced, as well as improved connectivity with third-party earphones. The update also included improving the stability of the system in specific situations without detection.
It appears that update 6.0.0.173 is reaching users globally gradually, with Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro users getting it in China first, then the rest of the markets during the following weeks.
